It is of utmost importance to install the sod as soon as it is delivered, particularly in extreme heat conditions. To ensure a smooth process, it is highly recommended to have an installation service scheduled before receiving the sod. Our customer service team can assist you in finding a reputable installation provider in case you do not have one already lined up.

Before installing the sod, it’s important to properly prepare the soil by eliminating large rocks and weeds and ensuring the surface is smooth. If you intend to install an in-ground sprinkler system, it’s crucial to set it up and test it before laying the sod to ensure it’s functioning correctly.

South Dallas Turf Farm Inc. specializes in providing top-notch turf for various landscaping projects. Each pallet of turf they deliver is of exceptional quality, with a total area of 450 square feet or an equivalent of 50 yards. With each pallet, you can cover a substantial area, making it an ideal solution for residential and commercial properties. Additionally, the consistency and uniformity of the turf ensure that the outcome will be visually pleasing and of the highest standard.

The weight of the pallets that we offer at our farm can fluctuate depending on the soil’s moisture level. Generally speaking, the weight of a pallet of turf can range from 2000 to 2200 pounds. It is important to note that the weight of the pallets can vary depending on the water content of the soil, which can affect the product’s overall weight.

However, regardless of the weight of the pallet, you can rest assured that the quality of the turf will always be of the highest standard and will be perfect for your landscaping projects.

To determine the square footage of sod you require for your project, you simply measure your property length and multiply it by its width.

An example of this formula:
length X width = square foot.
(e.g. 50 feet long by 20 feet wide = 1,000 sq. ft.)

Sod can be planted effectively in most conditions, but some seasons are better than others. Spring and Fall offer optimal conditions due to cooler temperatures and more moisture in the air.

Sod, also known as turf, is grass grown and harvested in large sections, making it easy to install in lawns and other outdoor spaces. One of the benefits of sod is that it is relatively simple to cut and shape, allowing it to be customized to fit any area. This can be done by using various sharp tools, such as a razor blade or even the end of a shovel. This flexibility in shaping and cutting makes it an ideal option for those looking to install a new lawn or repair an existing one. Additionally, sod is an instant gratification way to have a beautiful lawn, unlike seed, which can take a while to establish. With sod, you can have a lush, green lawn in a few days.
